- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Dr. Nelson was the first doctor to correctly diagnose my rare birth defect-- Fibular Hemimelia +Congenital Femoral Deficiency, at 53 years old. He performed several complex limb corrections for me: ankle fusion + tibia PRECICE lengthening rod insertion. He also surgically inserted a lengthening rod in my femur. We lengthened my tibia 2 inches and my femur 3 inches = 5 inches total lengthening. I can finally, at 56 years old, put both feet flat on the ground.
